Digital Storytelling

I am learning about how to make a movie about something that is in my content area. I understand the importance of this assignment because we need to be abe to do this as a teacher. Not only for our classes but to help our students understand it as well. I am having some trouble with the storyboard, in making it on the computer. I know that i will fugure it out though. My digital story is about preventing knee injury. As a dancer I have problems iwth my knee and I know that i am not the only one. So by making this movie it is important to let others know aobut it as well.

UEN

In class we started to learn about UEN and how it can help us as teachers. At first I didnt really understand why we needed a home page and have all of our information on there. But as we learned more about it, I am glad that we are learning it. UEN offers so many resources for me as a teacher. I will be able to help my students and get them the information using my homepage. We just started building it but I know that it will turn out great. UEN is just another great tool that we can use technology in the class room. Parents and studetns can always have that website to look for assignments and announcements that are needed for them to know.

The New Math Video was right on base I think. I have a hard time with math and I know that it is only going to get worst as I get older. We need to be able to hlep our students understand in the best way possible.

First Reflection

What I have been learning in class is information that I am going to need in while I am teaching. But Also to teach my kids one day about the technology that our world has. It is important that we all understand how to use the technology in out lives. That we make it a goal to understand it. The personal reflection project was good for me to realize how much I need to learn about technology. It helped me to focus in on my weaknesses so that I can work on them. Now that I know the importance of technology and how much our students need it in their education because it is how they learn. I want to help my students learn the best way that they can. I need to think of ways that I can bring technology into the dance studio. So that the dancers can use it in their own creative process. The video that we watched about how the students of the millennium are not being taught with technology and that is all that they use in their lives. Made me really think how much technology is taking over. Our world is going to continue to grow and enhance. I as a teacher need to be the one that brings them that technology and help then learn it.

Brittney Gleaves

Hello my name is Brittney Gleaves. I am a junior at UVU majoring in Dance Education. I have been dacning since I was six years old. I am very passionate about dance and love what I am doing with my life. I am currantly teaching dance to younger kids and I cannot wait to get into the high schools when I graduate next year. I want to share my passion that I have for dance with them and hopfully inspire them to have a passion as well. Dancing can serve people in many different ways. I am hoping that I can share my art to help people have joy. So that they can have joy and happiness in thier own life. Dacning makes me happy and my favorite thing about dancing is that it can be about anyting. I can dance about whatever I want. I love creating anything with dance. It truly is my passion!
